Frankfurt, like most of Europe, is very walker-friendly. Forget Ubers and taxis. I always end of losing weight while vacationing because I am constantly walking!
After visiting the Jewish Holocaust Memorial, we returned to Romerberg, the location of a huge Christmas market. We had undoubtedly worked up an appetite and stumbled upon La Perla.
The ground floor is just for ice cream and desserts, so we were led upstairs to the restaurant section for lunch. The menu is in both German and English, which was super helpful. After looking through the rather large menu, we chose the Caprese salad for an appetizer, and for the main course we had the Bruschetta and veg flatbread.
We waited and waited, and all three were brought out at the same time. Odd, but ok. Now, the Bruschetta is not your typical Italian dish. This was more like a pizza. Burnt around the edges, but the center was really good. Like I said, in was a thick breading pizza with cheese and typical Bruschetta toppings.
The veg flatbread was good, with a nice, thin crust that was crispy. We had eggplant, so we picked this off. The Caprese salad was nice, with a bottle of balsamic vinegar to add as we desired.
Decent customer service, nothing over the top. Great views of Romerberg was we ate. Average German prices and the restrooms were clean.

Terrible service, almost no food available, expensive, under avarage food, could not even execute a simple dish such as carbonara.

Understand something people, this place deserves negative stars! There was a maggot in a drink and the waiter insisted still paying... SMH, the nerve of this waiter. He gets angry because I do not want to pay, like seriously... I'm more irritated that I didn't get a picture of the daggon maggot.

Despicable. Wouldn't let my wife use the toilet, and when I tried to purchase some ice cream to buy her admission to the toilet completely ignored me. Avoid at all cost. Scum of the earth.
